A seminar on conditioning training was held in Trokut

On Thursday, November 20, a professional seminar on athletes’ conditioning training was held in Trokut. The seminar was organized by the Center for Research and Development of Elite Sports Preparation (CIRSP) at the Croatian Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the Sports Association of the City of Šibenik and the Sports Association of Šibenik-Knin County. The main speaker was Prof. Dr. Luka Milanović. More than fifty coaches and sports professionals from the county participated in the seminar.

At the beginning of the seminar, attendees were welcomed by Dario Kulušić, representing the Sports Association. This was followed by a speech from County Prefect Paško Rakić, who wished everyone success, expressed his satisfaction that such a seminar was taking place, and offered full support for similar initiatives in the future.

The seminar was divided into two key topics in sports. The first focused on periodization and timing of peak performance, while the second covered theoretical aspects related to competition day. The lecturer and main moderator of the seminar was one of the most respected sports experts in Croatia on these topics, Prof. Dr. Luka Milanović.

The seminar also featured two panels. After Prof. Milanović’s first lecture, a panel with coaches from Šibenik-Knin County was held. Participants included Stipe Bralić (coach of ŽKK Šibenik and national team selector), Dražen Lasić (coach of Marko Čeko, multiple Croatian long jump champion), Marko Kartelo (head of HNK Šibenik football academy), Saša Subotić (coach of MNK Crnica), and Marijo Čaleta (coach of ŽVK Viktoria).

Following the second lecture, a panel with former and current elite athletes from the county took place, featuring Anđela Strize (player for ŽKK Šibenik and national team member), Nives Radić (multiple-time world champion in kickboxing), Anđa Jelavić (former basketball player and national team captain), Marko Čeko (multiple Croatian long jump champion), and Stipe Bačelić Grgić (former top-league footballer).

The seminar was educational in nature, and the coaches in attendance benefited from Prof. Dr. Luka Milanović’s concise lectures. Drawing on his expertise and professional experience, he explained methods to become a better coach, how to structure training, and how to address challenges in the training process. At the end of the seminar, Prof. Milanović wished everyone success in their future work and encouraged them to strive to become better versions of themselves.
